Wayan decided we could take the medium track back and we were so happy to walk along the crater rim to see the different sites of the area. We could also see a slightly smoking Mount Agung and Mount Rinjani from where we stood. The sky was very clear that day!
As we descend we came upon the gravel loose rocks again and Wayan helped to "slide down" without tripping. We passed a forest and down to tomato, spring onion and chilli plantations! The view was spectacular! We also saw a pigsty at the side.
We reached the car park at 9am and we really appreciate the guidance given by Wayan. We bid our goodbyes and went to Sekumpul Waterfall.
It took us about 1.5 hours to reach the place as it is up north. The place was secluded and we were greeted by a young man who lived in the village. He guided us the way down, all 230 steps to the waterfall. The waterfall is 90 meters drop, and there's about 4 waterfalls at the same area. The view is unobstructed and amazing!
As we didn't bring our swimwear or sandals, we took off our shoes and just waddle and wash up at the shallow streams. But it would be nice to swim as it is only about 1 meter deep. We came back up for lunch at 12.30pm and bid our goodbyes to the young guide and head back to Kuta.
It took about 2 plus hours to get back to Kuta. Our driver was very kind to bring us chilli hunting at local supermarket, and we managed to find the small red and green chillies!
It was a very enjoyable trip for us and thank you for all the arrangements made! More
