Wonderful experience, great service - Had a great experience with Bagus Bali Sunrise. We could only make the booking at the very last minute, yet Bagus Bali replied promptly and very professionally. Our driver was... read more at our lodging (which was actually very far from Batur) way before the official pick up time, waiting, which if you consider was at around 1am, was impressive!
Our guide was excellent - a very nice unassuming guy who has been climbing the peak for many years. He was always checking in with us, and he customised our experience a little since we said we wanted to go by a less crowded and more challenging route. When we reached the top, he eagerly sussed out the best spot for us, prepping everything just to make sure we were comfy. Later on, he offered to take lots of photos and even videos of us (even though we didnt ask him to).. really appreciate his proactiveness and great service, which gave us a few good photos and memories to look back on.
I'd highly recommend bagus bali. I had an overall wonderful experience with them and especially our guide though sadly I cannot recall his name.

We did the sunset trek - we started at about 3.30pm and got to the top at about 5pm. After we ate and explored the peak, the way down took about 45 minutes.
Make sure to wear good shoes because the stones on the way down can be a bit slippery.James G

We were collected at 2:15 from our hotel in Ubud by our driver for the day Adi and taken to a small warung near the base of the mountain for... read more tasty banana chocolate pancakes. We were then brought to beginning of the trek where we met our guide Wayan Suar. The climb itself was very enjoyable with Wayan as our guide he allowed for breaks when needed and even took us an alternate (yet slightly harder) route to the top which was less crowded than the main one. At the top Wayan treated us to a much appreciated breakfast of hot tea, banana sandwiches, some fruit, and an egg that had been boiled over one of the steam vents of the volcano. Wayan was very accommodating when it came to taking photos at the summit for every phase of the sunrise and even posed with us for a couple. After the hike back down we jumped back in the car with Adi and headed off to the remote north of Bali (2hour drive) to visit the beautiful but lesser known waterfalls of Sekumpul. I would highly recommend this as a stop as it is far less crowded and more impressive than the Tegenungan waterfall we had seen the day before. Our guide for the waterfall Sugi was great. He had very good English, a great sense of humor and was very chatty and informative throughout the tour. On the way back to our hotel Adi obliged us by stopping at the famous Ulun Danu Beratan however it was far too crowded and hard to properly enjoy. Beautiful temple though. Arrived back in Ubud at 5pm and called it a night after a long and very enjoyable day.

Wayan decided we could take the medium track back and we were so happy to walk along the crater rim to see the different sites of the area. We could also see a slightly smoking Mount Agung and Mount Rinjani from where we stood. The sky was very clear that day!
As we descend we came upon the gravel loose rocks again and Wayan helped to "slide down" without tripping. We passed a forest and down to tomato, spring onion and chilli plantations! The view was spectacular! We also saw a pigsty at the side.
We reached the car park at 9am and we really appreciate the guidance given by Wayan. We bid our goodbyes and went to Sekumpul Waterfall.
It took us about 1.5 hours to reach the place as it is up north. The place was secluded and we were greeted by a young man who lived in the village. He guided us the way down, all 230 steps to the waterfall. The waterfall is 90 meters drop, and there's about 4 waterfalls at the same area. The view is unobstructed and amazing!
As we didn't bring our swimwear or sandals, we took off our shoes and just waddle and wash up at the shallow streams. But it would be nice to swim as it is only about 1 meter deep. We came back up for lunch at 12.30pm and bid our goodbyes to the young guide and head back to Kuta.
It took about 2 plus hours to get back to Kuta. Our driver was very kind to bring us chilli hunting at local supermarket, and we managed to find the small red and green chillies!
It was a very enjoyable trip for us and thank you for all the arrangements made! More
